Main Event Final Table

Finally the final table of the Main Event!
A nice group of players with horrible luckers like Montgomery, one established pro in Chino, young up and comers like Eastgate, Marquis et Demidov.

I liked what I saw.
Phillips played too agressive. I think this may have cost him a better chance at winning it all.
The final two were in my opinion the best players at the table. It is a nice thing after the horrible wins of total luckers Gold and Yang.
At least the guys could really play and I think we will see them do well in the future.

Time out from poker and Phill Hellmuth for comedian of the year

I have not played in a while.
Not much time for cards and I do not like to play just to play. I need to be focused. If I am not I d better just give my money to charity.
I hope to be able to play a little more on the week-end.

So this week I have only watched poker.
Phill Helmuth is a great poker player, and beside he is really entertaining, I cannot help liking his little tantrums he always throws. Maybe he does it to get attention, but if it is genuine (and as we see he keeps doing his temperamental child show every tourney), it is hilarious.

So respect to one of the best tournament poker player in the world and to his ability to entertain the audience.

Poker on the week-end and Pick-up Artist

Another tough week of poker. Won nicely on Friday, only to lose all benefits on Saturday.
A little disappointing as I played very solid poker, and just could not catch a face card all evening... Tried to do a few moves but they backfired as I run against guys who caught very solids hands on the flop.

Only thing to do in thoses cases, laugh a little in front of the new season of the Pick-up Artist.
The new season seems promising, if I had to pick a winner, Simeon is my odd favourite.

Badbeats of the day:

Played a little online poker tonight after coming back from a night out.
I didnt play long but it was a bloody sight. Small stakes.

Lost with AA all in pre flop against 10 10

Lost with QQ all in pre flop vs A 6

Lost with a set of 8s, after I re-raised all in my opponent against Q6 (He hit a runner runner flush).

It has been a weird month, it looks like right now I cannot lose live (I havent had a negative live session in more than a month) and I cannot stop losing online.

Horrible badbeats and poker strategy

I cannot stop receiving horrible beats in poker right now.
What is your strategy when it happens?
Do you stop cash game to focus on tournament? Do you lower your limit?

If you have not seen the main event television show second episode you gotta watch it.
Somebody is getting sent home early, fate puts the hurt on him. Absolutely crazy.
